57 books into my Children’s Lit course, 17 or so more to go … and this is by far my favorite read of the course. As if I should’ve expected anything less of the great Neil Gaiman.
This just made my weekend.
I’m drowning in syllabi and I can’t find my motivation. BLAH!
2013 was by far my most successful year as a reader yet. It was also the first year I’ve faithfully logged all of my reads through GoodReads, so my stats from previous years are highly erroneous … but that’s neither here nor there. I set a goal of 61 books for 2013 which felt completely unrealistic at the time, and ended up reading 87 - woohoo! I was bummed that I couldn’t finish A Feast For Crows before the year’s end and bump that page count up over 30k, but at least I’ll have a good head start for 2014. A lot of this is thanks to my YA Materials course, which forced me to read 22 titles in a relatively short period of time … many of which I wouldn’t have normally picked up otherwise.
Favorite Read(s) of 2013: Raven Boys/The Dream Thieves, Darkest Minds/Never Fade, Scorpio Races, Fangirl, Tiger Lily
Least Favorite Read(s) of 2013: Phoenix, Enclave
Most Disappointing Read(s) of 2013: The Ocean at the End of the Lane, Ender’s Game, Allegiant
Book I Can’t Believe I Waited Until 2013 to Read: The Great Gatsby
Book(s) I’m Most Looking Forward to in 2014: Raven Cycle #3, City of Heavenly Fire
Bring it on, 2014!
Merry early Christmas to me!
